Domino's Pizza Announces Earnings

Domino’s Pizza, Inc. (DPZ) announced its latest quarterly earnings on Monday, July 20. The restaurant chain reported quarterly revenue that beat analysts’ expectations, causing its stock to rise by about 3% following the release of the report.

Revenue came in at $1.19 billion during the second quarter, slightly above analysts’ expectations of $1.18 billion. Second quarter revenue was up 4.3% from revenue of $1.15 billion reported during the same quarter last year.

“In the second quarter, Domino’s drove meaningful order count growth,” said Domino’s CEO, Russell Weiner. “In a quarter where the broader U.S. QSR industry continued to face pressure on consumer demand, Domino’s generated order count growth across both our delivery and carryout businesses, bringing millions of new customers to our brand. Domino’s is uniquely positioned to continue gaining market share and delivering long-term value for shareholders.”

Domino’s reported net income of $135.75 million or $4.07 per adjusted share. This was up from $131.09 million in net income or $3.81 per adjusted share last year at this time.

The pizza company reported an increase in retail sales across its global operations with 1.9% growth in U.S. stores and 4.1% growth in its international stores. The company’s domestic same-store sales at company-owned stores increased by 2.1% for the quarter while domestic franchise same-store sales were unchanged. Internationally, same-store sales decreased marginally by 0.1% year-over-year. By the end of the second quarter, the company had a total of 22,531 stores, reflecting 209 net store openings, including 183 international stores.

Domino’s Pizza, Inc. (DPZ) shares ended the week at $332.97, down 3% for the week.

3M Releases Earnings Report

3M Company (MMM) released its second quarter earnings report on Tuesday, July 21. 3M’s shares rose approximately 6% in premarket trading after posting better-than-expected sales for the quarter.

Net sales for the quarter came in at $6.50 billion. This was up 2.4% from $6.34 billion during the same quarter last year and ahead of estimated quarterly sales of $6.40 billion.

“We delivered a strong second quarter, exceeding expectations with mid-single-digit sales growth, robust operating margins of about 25%, and double-digit EPS growth, reflecting the progress we are making on our strategic priorities and building a higher-performing company," said 3M CEO, William Brown. “As a result of our strong first-half performance and continued momentum, we are increasing our full-year guidance and remain confident in our ability to create long-term value for shareholders.”

3M posted net income of $933 million or $1.78 per adjusted share for the quarter. Last year at this time, the company posted net income of $723 million or $1.34 per adjusted share.

The company’s Safety and Industrial segment reported sales of $3.09 billion during the quarter, up from $2.86 billion during the same period the prior year. Sales in the Transportation and Electronics segment reached $2.07 billion, up from $1.94 billion one year ago. The Consumer segment posted sales of $1.25 billion, down slightly from $1.27 billion in the year prior. 3M updated its full-year 2026 earnings outlook and expects adjusted earnings in the range of $8.80 to $8.95, an increase from its previous forecast ranging from $8.50 to $8.70.

3M Company (MMM) shares ended the week at $172.62, up 8% for the week.

General Motors Posts Quarterly Earnings

General Motors Company (GM) posted its second quarter earnings on Tuesday, July 21. After topping analysts’ expectations, the automaker’s stock increased almost 5% following the release. 

General Motors announced revenue of $48.03 billion for the quarter, up nearly 2% from $47.12 billion at this time last year. Revenue beat analysts’ expectations of $47.01 billion.

“General Motors delivered another solid quarter of earnings, driven by the appeal of our product portfolio, the agility of our team, and disciplined execution,” said General Motors CEO, Mary Barra, in a letter to shareholders. “We expect these trends will continue to strengthen our performance into 2027 and beyond because we have multiple engines of margin expansion and growth while maintaining our capital discipline.”

General Motors reported quarterly net income of $1.29 billion or $1.41 per diluted share. This was down from $1.87 billion or $1.91 per diluted share during the same quarter last year.

The automotive manufacturing company’s North America segment saw its second quarter revenue increase to $39.91 billion, up narrowly from $39.49 billion year-over-year. General Motors’ International segment reported revenue of $3.69 billion, up from $3.33 billion in the prior year. The company sold 1.43 million vehicles worldwide in the quarter, a 7.2% decrease year-over-year. General Motors raised its full-year guidance for fiscal 2026, expecting adjusted earnings per share between $12.00 to $14.00. The company authorized a quarterly cash dividend of $0.18 per share of common stock payable on September 17, 2026, to shareholders of record as of September 4, 2026.

General Motors Company (GM) shares ended the week at $82.64, up 7% for the week.
